Summary: The Social Skills Rating System (SSRS) provides a broad, multirater assessment of student social behaviors that can affect teacher-student relations, peer acceptance, and academic performance. The Social Skills Improvement System (SSIS: Gresham & Elliot, 2008) Rating Scales enables targeted assessment of individuals and small groups to help evaluate social skills, problem behaviors, and academic competence. It was designed to replace the SSRS Social Skills Rating System. | Reliability evidence | Internal consistency was calculated for all three scale scores for all forms. Median Cronbach's alpha = 0.96 (teacher), 0.96 (parent), and 0.94 (student). Test-retest reliability within a three-month period was calculated for the subscales for all forms. Median correlation = 0.83 (teacher), 0.86 (parent), and 0.79 (student). Inter-rater reliability for two raters was calculated for all subscales for parent and teacher forms. For teacher forms, the median reliability coefficient was 0.62; for parent forms, median reliability was 0.55. |
